Children’s Storytelling Project
Educational Storytelling Through Puppet Theatre
Overview
This project combined storytelling, education, and puppet theatre to create interactive learning experiences for young children. Using a hand-made puppet character and original stories, I designed and led sessions that encouraged children to explore emotions, friendship, communication, and everyday life lessons through imagination and play. Each story introduced age-appropriate themes such as colors, animals, numbers, kindness, cooperation, and understanding right from wrong. Through participation, discussion, and interaction with the puppet characters, children were invited not only to listen to stories but to become part of them. The project was designed for multilingual environments and was delivered in Russian, English, and Hebrew.
Why I Created It
The idea for this project grew from my experience working and volunteering with young children. I noticed how naturally children learn when new ideas are presented through stories, play, and imagination. Storytelling creates a space where children can understand complex emotions, explore relationships, and make sense of the world around them in a way that feels engaging and accessible. Through puppet theatre, I wanted to create stories that were not only educational but also memorable, encouraging curiosity, participation, and creativity. This project became an opportunity to combine my interest in performance, storytelling, and education while creating meaningful experiences for young children.
